(1) We need food and water to stay alive.
(2) We need to eat different kinds of food to stay healthy.
(3) There are many kinds of food:
(a) Some food gives us energy, example: rice, bread, potatoes, cake. We need energy to walk, run, play
and to do work.
(b) Some food helps us to grow, example: milk, fish, meat, butter. Growing children eat more of such food
to help them to grow.
(c) Some food helps us to stay healthy, example: fresh fruits and vegetables. When we are healthy, we do
not fall sick easily.
(4) We grow and change as we grow older. We grow in height, size and weight.
